²⁰ Is Ephraim My dear son?
Is he a pleasant child?
For though I spoke against him,
I earnestly remember him still;
^(A)Therefore My ^[a]heart yearns for him;
^(B)I will surely have mercy on him, says the Lord.

³² Though He causes grief,
Yet He will show compassion
According to the multitude of His mercies.
