¹⁹ Then ^(A)I will give them one heart, and I will put ^(B)a new spirit within ^[a]them, and take ^(C)the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, ^20 (D)that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; ^(E)and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

²⁷ I will put My ^(A)Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

A New Covenant

³¹ “Behold, the ^(A)days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— ³² not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that ^(B)I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, ^[a]though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. ^33 (C)But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: ^(D)I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their ^[b]hearts; ^(E)and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. ³⁴ No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for ^(F)they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For ^(G)I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

⁸ Because finding fault with them, He says: ^(A)“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— ⁹ not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord. ¹⁰ For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the ^(B)Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and ^(C)I will be their God, and they shall be My people. ^11 (D)None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the ^(E)Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. ¹² For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, ^(F)and their sins ^[a]and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

^13 (G)In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

³ For ^(A)what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, ^(B)God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, ⁴ that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who ^(C)do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. ⁵ For ^(D)those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, ^(E)the things of the Spirit.

¹³ till we all come to the unity of the faith ^(A)and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to ^(B)a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
