Pr 30:2–3

30:2, 3 This statement is not mere modesty or humility, but a recognition of the mystery of the being and ways of God such as is found in Job and Ecclesiastes. The writer is acutely conscious of the bounds of human knowledge and wisdom. God is not an object for our investigation or speculation, but the infinite and personal Creator in whom we must trust. There may be a note of irony in the profession of ignorance here, but v. 4 indicates the meaning.
