15:1–41 The location of the material in this chapter—between the disastrous defeat at the hands of the Amalekites and Canaanites (14:39–45) and Korah’s rebellion (ch. 16)—is significant. In giving this chapter of laws for their behavior in the land (v. 2) God assured Israel that, despite their failures and rebellions, He still planned to give Canaan to them.
