26:6–13 Mark 14:3–9 agrees with Matthew’s account regarding the time (two days before Passover, v. 2) and the method of anointing (on Jesus’ head). John 12:1–8 differs chronologically (six days before Passover), but although certain details are different (Mary anoints His feet), none conflict (John 12:3 note). These three accounts probably relate the same incident. Luke 7:36–38, however, bears only superficial similarity to this story.
