11:12 suffered violence. The kingdom is pressing ahead with force, although violent men, such as Herod who had imprisoned John the Baptist, are trying to overcome it by force. It is not the strong and forceful who obtain the kingdom but the weak and helpless (vv. 28–30), who know their own weakness and are ready to depend on God (cf. Luke 16:16 note).
