Mark 6:50

6:50 it is I. The Greek phrase (lit. “I am”) is also the Septuagint (the Greek translation of the Old Testament) rendering of the divine name “I am” revealed to Moses (Ex. 3:14; Deut. 32:39; Is. 41:4; 43:10, 13, 25; 45:18; 52:6; Hos. 13:4; Joel 2:27). This account has all the usual marks of biblical theophany narratives (various modes of visible, divine self-revelation), including human dread, divine identification, and words of assurance.
