5:17–19 As the phrase “though he did not know it” (v. 17) indicates, these verses concern the person who suspects he has transgressed against divine law or another person but is not sure. Sacrificial remedy is provided for those with an uneasy conscience. In this instance, there is no demand for reparation because the nature of the offense is uncertain.
