20–23 Jude now turns from denunciation of the false teachers to positive exhortation of his readers. To contend for the faith when it is under attack means more than opposing false teachers with words. It involves a positive life faithful to the gospel. The Trinitarian form of Jude’s exhortation should be noted (“Holy Spirit . . . God . . . Lord Jesus Christ”).
