Job 34

34:1–37 Following a pedantic introduction, Elihu quotes words from Job that are easy to refute (12:4; 13:18; 27:2, 6). His thesis is that no one is really innocent, so God denies no one justice (v. 5). The bulk of this second speech is a defense of God’s goodness and justice (vv. 10–30). Elihu closes with another condemnation of Job’s words and a call for repentance (vv. 31–37).
