Isa 4:2

4:2 branch. The term has two possible senses: one is literal, corresponding to the parallel phrase “fruit of the land,” and the other is as a messianic title for Jesus Christ, who yields spiritual fruit (11:1–5; Jer. 23:5; Zech. 3:8; John 15:1–8). The remnant find life in Him (6:13). Because Jesus humbled Himself, He is crowned with glory (52:13; 53:12; Phil. 2:9–11).
