city. The city of God is the community of the redeemed (1:26; 2:2; 60:18 and notes; Ps. 46:4; 48:1–3, 12, 13; Rev. 21:2, 10).

salvation as walls and bulwarks. Since God is with His people, He provides salvation and security (12:2 note). God is like a wall protecting His people from disgrace (49:16).
