Heb 13:11–12

13:11, 12 The symbolism of the Day of Atonement expressed two important aspects of Christ’s atoning work. First, the blood brought into the Most Holy Place declared that only through the death of a blameless substitute could anyone approach the holy God. Second, the bodies of the animals burned outside the camp indicated that the substitute became unclean as the bearer of the people’s sins.
