30:25–43 God sovereignly blessed Jacob’s flocks at Laban’s expense in spite of the inexcusable cunning of both men. Jacob appears to outwit Laban, repaying Laban’s trickery, but he obtained his family and wealth entirely by God’s grace (29:31–30:24; 31:9).
