Ezek 7:22–27

7:22–27 Because the Lord had chosen Jerusalem as His dwelling and had miraculously fought on behalf of the city in the past (2 Kin. 18; 19; 2 Chr. 32; Is. 36:37), Judah had come to accept the notion that the city was inviolable as a theological truth. Ezekiel’s contemporary, Jeremiah, was also warning the inhabitants of the city not to trust in the existence of the temple as a guarantee of their own security (Jer. 7:1–15; 26:1–19).
