4:20 Erastus. Presumably the same person as Corinth’s treasurer mentioned in Rom. 16:23.
Corinth. The provincial capital of the Roman province of Achaia, it was visited by Paul on his second and third missionary journeys. Corinth is fifty miles west of Athens.
Trophimus. A member of the church at Ephesus who accompanied Paul to Jerusalem at the close of his third missionary journey (Acts 20:4; 21:29).
Miletus. A seaport just south of Ephesus, which Paul had visited at the end of his third missionary journey (Acts 20:15, 17). When Paul visited Miletus on his fourth and final journey is not clear.
