Uthai

UTHAI u’ thī (עוּתַ֨י). 1. A member of the family of Judah who returned to live in Jerusalem in the postexilic era (1 Chron 9:4). His father’s name was Ammihud.

2. A son of Bigvai (Ezra 8:14) and part of the company that traveled with Ezra from Babylon to Jerusalem in the days of Artaxerxes (Ezra 8:1). The caravan stopped at the river near Ahava for three days to permit Ezra to recruit some Levites to join the band in their return to Jerusalem.

In apocryphal lit. there is a Uthai mentioned whose sons returned under Zerubbabel (1 Esdras 5:30).
