Trustee

TRUSTEE (οἰκονόμος, G3874). A person to whom the management of another’s property is entrusted. The RSV uses the word only in Galatians 4:2 (KJV GOVERNOR), where Paul says that an heir who is a minor is “under guardians and trustees until the date set by the father.” The word οἰκονόμος, G3874, is usually rendered “steward” (Luke 12:42; 1 Cor 4:1, 2; Titus 1:7; 1 Pet 4:10); it is tr. once as “treasurer” (Rom 16:23).
