Timon

TIMON tī’ mən (Τίμων, G5511). One of the seven men chosen to relieve the apostles by looking after the poor in the Christian community in Jerusalem (Acts 6:5). The name is Gr., but it is probable that he was a Jew by birth, since Nicolaus alone of the seven is referred to as a proselyte.
