SHEMIRAMOTH shĭ mĭr’ ə mŏth (שְׁמִֽירָמֹ֡ות). 1. A Levite musician who provided music when the Ark of the Covenant was moved from the house of Obed-edom to Zion (1 Chron 15:18, 20) and assisted in the music service before the Ark after that (1 Chron 16:5).

2. A Levite delegated to teach the law in the cities of Judah (2 Chron 17:8).
