SHELUMIEL shĭ lōō’ mĭ əl (שְׁלֻמִיאֵ֖ל, God (El) is (my) welfare or peace). The son of Zurishaddai, and the leading official of the tribe of Simeon after the Exodus. He assisted in the census of Numbers 1 and in other representative capacities (Num 1:6; 2:12; 7:36, 41; 10:19). In the Apoc. his name appears as Salamiel, the son of Salasadai, in the genealogy of the heroine Judith (Judg 8:1; KJV SAMAEL).
