SECU sē’ ku (שֶׂ֔כוּ, lookout point). KJV SECHU. A place between Gibeah and Ramah visited by Saul in seeking information to search out David and Samuel (1 Sam 19:22). There is a possible identification with Khirbet Shuweikeh (cf. Conder, Survey of Western Palestine, 52), three m. N of Ramah. Lagarde’s LXX and B read ἔν τῷζέφει, “on the bare hill-top,” attesting a possible Heb. original of שְׁפִי֒, H9155, “bare hill.” This textual variant is easily possible in Heb. cursive or square Aram. script. The Peshitta reads “the end.” Other Gr. MSS and Vul. support the MT. A cistern at the site would be a well-known gathering place where information could be secured.
