SARID să’ rĭd (שָׂרִֽיד ; LXX A Σαριδ; Heb. textual variants probably produced forms such as Εσεδεκ, and Σεδδουκ; further evidence of VSS indicates Heb. original שָׂרִֽיד). An important city of Zebulun of uncertain identification (Josh 19:10, 12). Most scholars, accepting “sadud” as the original Heb. form, locate it at Tell Shadūd (Tell Shaddua, NBD) on the northern edge of the Plain of Esdraelon c. five m. SW of Nazareth.
