SALLAI sǎl’ ī (סַלָּ֑י). 1. The eponym of a Benjaminite family which settled in Jerusalem after the return from the Babylonian captivity (Neh 11:8). The name is missing from the parallel (1 Chron 9:9).

2. The name of a priestly family in the postexilic period (Neh 12:20); called Sallu in v. 7.
