ODED ō’ dĭd (עﯴדֵ֔ד). 1. The father of Azariah, a prophet in the time of Asa, king of Judah (2 Chron 15:1). In v. 8 the KJV makes Oded himself the prophet; the RSV departs from the MT and makes Azariah the son of Oded. The MT is obviously wrong here.

2. A prophet who successfully protested Pekah’s enslavement of Judahites in the time of Ahaz, king of Judah (2 Chron 28:8-15).
