ISH-TOB ĭsh’ tŏb (אִ֣ישׁ טֹ֔וב). The KJV rendering for “men of Tob” (2 Sam 10:6, 8). Tob was a small Aramaean principality founded in the 12th cent. b.c. to the S of Mount Hermon and Damascus. Jephthath lived there as an outlaw (Judg 11:3, 5). They fought against King David (2 Sam 10:6ff.).
