FIGUREHEAD (παράσημος, G4185; sign, KJV, Acts 28:11). The symbol on the Alexandrian ship’s prow upon which Paul sailed toward Rome. The figurehead was of the Twin Brothers (Dioskouroi), Castor and Pollux, sons of Zeus, and “good luck” deities of sailors.
