CHEZIB ke’ zĭb (אַכְזִ֖יב, deceptive, disappointing) CHASEBA kăs’ ə bə (Χασεβά).

1. A town in the lowland of Judah, SW of Adullam; modern Tell el-Beidā (Gen 38:5; Achzib, Josh 15:44; Mic 1:14). In 1 Chronicles 4:22, men of Chozeba KJV, Cozeba ASV, RSV, descendants of Shelah son of Judah.

2. A town in Asher on the Mediterranean coast, twenty m. N of Acre; in NT times Ecdippa; modern ez-Zib (Josh 19:29; Judg 1:31).

3. Chaseba (1 Esd 5:31 KJV, ASV), a family of temple servants returning from Babylonian exile. See Achzib.
