BOLSTER (רַאֲשׁﯴת, H8039, [1 Sam 26:12]; מְרַאֲשׁﯴת, H5265, [1 Sam 19:13, 16; 26:7, 11, 16]; for the latter, cf. also Gen 28:11, 18). The KJV rendered the term by “bolster” (cf. the “pillows” of Gen 28:11, 18), which is technically incorrect, since the Heb. merely indicates the place where the head is when asleep. The RSV has “at his head.”
