BEROTHAH, BEROTHAI bĭ rō’ thə; thī (Ezek 47:16 בֵּרֹ֨ותָה׃֙; LXX Βηρωθα; ̓Αβθηρα; ̓Ωσθηρα; 2 Sam 8:8 בֵּֽרֹתַ֖י, LXX ἐκ τῶν ἐκλεκτῶν πόλεων). A city of Hadadezer situated between Damascus and Hamath and from which David took much bronze. It was once thought that this was Beirut. The more probable identification, however, is with Bereitan, N of Damascus.
