BEEROTH BENE-JAAKAN bĭr’ ŏth bĕn’ ĭ jā'-ə kən (בְּאֵרֹ֥ת בְּנֵי־יַעֲקָ֖ן; LXX βηρωθ υἱῶν Ιακμμ; wells of the sons of Jaakan). One of the stations on the wilderness wanderings of the Israelites, near the border of Edom. It is the last stop before Moserah (Deut 10:6). The name is shortened to Bene-Jaakan, and the place is reached after Moseroth (Num 33:31). The site is generally identified with modern Birein.
