BAGOAS bə gō’ əs (Βαγώας). The eunuch in charge of Holofernes’ affairs. It was Bagoas’ duty to invite Judith to a banquet with Holofernes and to provide her with the courtesies extended to a special guest. Bagoas also discovered the beheaded body of his master (Judg 12:11, 13, 15; 13:3; 14:14).
