ASHBEL, ASHBELITE ăsh’ bĕl, ăsh’ bə līt (אַשְׁבֵּ֔ל). Ashbel was a son of Benjamin and the progenitor of the family of Ashbelites (Gen 46:21; Num 26:38; 1 Chron 8:1). It is difficult to tell whether he was the second or third son.
