ARUMAH ə rōō’ mə (ארוּמָ֑ה). The town in which Abimelech, the son of Jerubbaal (Gideon), lived after he had been driven from Shechem (Judg 9:41). In Judges 9:31, where the KJV has “privily,” the RSV reads “at Arumah,” while the ASV has “craftily.” The Heb. text is תָרְמָ֣ה (in Tormah).
