ARAH âr’ ə (אָרַ֥ח). 1. An Asherite; son of Ulla (1 Chron 7:39).
2. An ancestor of a family that returned from the Exile with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:5; Neh 7:10; 1 Esd 5:10 [KJV, ASV ARES]). The numbers of those who returned vary in these passages.
3. Joshua 13:4 should perhaps read me-’arah “from Arah.” Arah may be modern Khirbet ’Arah.
