AIN FESHKA. An oasis some two m. S of Khirbet Qumran, on the W coast of the Dead Sea. In 1958 a small settlement was excavated there, which may have been the agricultural center for the Qumran sectaries, producing vegetables, grain, and meat supplies. It also contained a tannery for the processing of leather and possibly the manufacture of parchment.
