ABRON ăb’ rən (written variously in the major LXX MSS Αβρωνα, χερβων). KJV ARBONAI är bōn’ ai (Judt 2:24). A river mentioned in the apocryphal Book of Judith. Conjectured identification with Chaboras (Heb. Habōr, 2 Kings 17:6; 18:11; 1 Chron 5:26) or with Abdon (Josh 21:30; 1 Chron 6:74). May be corruption of Heb. עֵ֣בֶר הַנָּהָ֗ר, “beyond the river,” read as a proper name.
