ABIASAPH ə bī ə săf (אֶבְיָסָ֨ף, the [my] father has gathered). In 1 Chronicles 6:23, 37; 9:19, and in the Samaritan Pentateuch in Exodus 6:24, Ebiasaph, e bī ă săf. Either a Levite, a descendant of Korah, called son of Korah (1 Chron 6:37 and 9:19), or a division of Levites descended from Korah. In 1 Chronicles 9:19, Ebiasaph is listed among the gatekeepers. The order of succession in Exodus 6:24 and 1 Chronicles 6:37 is Levi, Kohath, Izhar, Korah, Ebiasaph. In 1 Chronicles 6:22, 23, Assir and Elkanah are placed between Ebiasaph and Korah, while Amminadab is in the place of Izhar.
