Abate

ABATE (נוּס, H5674, to flee away, to hasten away; גָּרַע֒, H1757, to cut off or diminish; חָסֵר֒, H2893, to be lacking, wanting; קָלַל, H7837, to become light; רָפָה֒, H8332, to be feeble, to desist). When Moses died at the age of 120 years, his natural force was not abated (Deut 34:7). The dedication of a field after the Year of Jubilee caused its value to be abated by the years that had passed. The waters abated after the Flood (Gen 8:8). The anger of the men of Ephraim was abated against Gideon (Judg 8:3).
