Shadrach [Shā'drach]—decree of moon-god or soft, tender. The name given by the prince of the eunuchs at Babylon to Hananiah, one of the three faithful Hebrew youths (Dan. 1:7; 3:12-30). With his two companions, Meshach and Abednego, Shadrach was miraculously delivered from the burning fiery furnace.
