Javan [Jā'văn]—supple, clay or he that deceives. The fourth son of Japheth, son of Noah (Gen. 10:2, 4; 1 Chron. 1:5, 7), and founder of descendants spreading afar (Isa. 66:19). Also the name of a city in South Arabia (Ezek. 27:13, 19). Now Yemen, or the same as Uzal.
