Araunah [Ărau'nah]—jehovah is firm. The Jebusite who owned a threshing floor on Mount Moriah, which David purchased in order to erect an altar. Because of his sin in numbering the people, the land was smitten with a plague. When the plague was stayed, David presented a costly offering to the Lord (2 Sam. 24:16-24). Called Ornan in 1 Chronicles 21:15.
