Song of Solomon 6:5-7
New English Translation
Song of Solomon 6:5-7
New English Translation
5 Turn your eyes away from me—
they overwhelm[a] me!
Your hair is like a flock of goats
descending from Mount Gilead.
6 Your teeth are like a flock of sheep
coming up from the washing;
each has its twin;
not one of them is missing.
7 Like a slice of pomegranate
is your forehead[b] behind your veil.
Footnotes
- Song of Solomon 6:5 tn The verb רָהַב (rahav) should be nuanced “overwhelm” or “arouse” rather than “storm against,” “make proud,” “confuse,” “dazzle,” or “overcome” (BDB 923 s.v. רָהַב).
- Song of Solomon 6:7 tn Alternately, “your cheeks” or “your temple.” See 4:3.
