Kanu waa gabay Mikhtaam ah oo Daa'uud tiriyey.

16 Ilaahow, i dhawr, waayo, adigaan isku kaa halleeyaa.
Waxaan Rabbiga ku idhi, Sayidkayga baad tahay,
Oo innaba wanaag ma haysto la'aantaa.
Quduusiinta dhulka joogtaa
Waxaa weeye kuwa sharafta leh oo aan aad iyo aad ula faraxsanahay.
Kuwa ilaaha kale u dheereeya murugtoodu waa badnaan doontaa,
Laakiinse anigu bixin maayo qurbaankooda cabniinka oo dhiigga ah,
Oo magacyadoodana bushimahayga ku soo qaadi maayo.
Rabbigu waxaa weeye qaybtii dhaxalkayga iyo koobkayga,
Adigu qaybtayda waad xannaanaysaa.
Dhulqaybsigii meelo wacan baan ku helay,
Haah, oo waxaan leeyahay dhaxal wanaagsan.
Anigu waxaan ammaanayaa Rabbiga i waaniyey,
Habeenkiina uurkaygu wax buu i baraa.
Had iyo jeerba Rabbigaan hortayda ku xusuustaa,
Oo anigu innaba dhaqdhaqaaqi maayo,
Maxaa yeelay, isagu wuxuu joogaa midigtayda.
Taas aawadeed qalbigaygu waa faraxsan yahay oo naftayduna way rayraysaa,
Oo weliba jidhkayguna ammaan buu ku jiri doonaa.
10 Maxaa yeelay, naftayda She'ool kuma dayn doontid,
Kaaga quduuska ahna uma dayn doontid inuu qudhun arko.
11 Waxaad i tusi doontaa jidka nolosha,
Hortaada farxad baa ka buuxda,
Gacantaada midigna nimco baa ku jirta weligeed.

Psalm 16

A miktam[a] of David.

Keep me safe,(A) my God,
for in you I take refuge.(B)

I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;(C)
apart from you I have no good thing.”(D)
I say of the holy people(E) who are in the land,(F)
“They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”
Those who run after other gods(G) will suffer(H) more and more.
I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods
or take up their names(I) on my lips.

Lord, you alone are my portion(J) and my cup;(K)
    you make my lot(L) secure.
The boundary lines(M) have fallen for me in pleasant places;
    surely I have a delightful inheritance.(N)
I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;(O)
even at night(P) my heart instructs me.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand,(Q) I will not be shaken.(R)

Therefore my heart is glad(S) and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,(T)
10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,(U)
nor will you let your faithful[b] one(V) see decay.(W)
11 You make known to me the path of life;(X)
you will fill me with joy in your presence,(Y)
with eternal pleasures(Z) at your right hand.(AA)

Footnotes

  1. Psalm 16:1 Title: Probably a literary or musical term
  2. Psalm 16:10 Or holy

16 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.

O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
