54 ¶ (54:1) Pou chèf sanba yo. Se yon chante David (54:2) te ekri lè moun peyi Zif yo te al di Sayil men David kache lakay yo. (54:3) Bondye, delivre m' non avèk pouvwa ou! Fè m' jistis avèk fòs kouraj ou!

²(54:4) Bondye, koute m' non lè m'ap lapriyè! Panche zòrèy ou pou tande pawòl k'ap soti nan bouch mwen!3 (54:5) Paske gen yon seri moun awogan ki leve dèyè m', yon bann mechan ki soti pou touye m'! Yo pa menm chonje si gen Bondye!

⁴¶ (54:6) Men, Bondye ap vin ede m'. Seyè a ap pran defans mwen.

⁵(54:7) L'ap fè mechanste moun ki pa vle wè m' yo tonbe sou tèt yo; l'ap fini nèt ak yo paske l'ap toujou kenbe pawòl li.

⁶(54:8) Seyè, m'a ofri bèt pou yo touye pou ou ak kè kontan, m'a fè lwanj ou, paske ou bon pou mwen.

⁷(54:9) Ou delivre m' anba tray mwen te ye a; ou fè m' wè lènmi m' yo pèdi batay la.

For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A maskil^[b] of David. When the Ziphites^(A) had gone to Saul and said, “Is not David hiding among us?”

¹Save me^(B), O God, by your name;^(C)
vindicate me by your might.^(D)
²Hear my prayer, O God;^(E)
listen to the words of my mouth.

³Arrogant foes are attacking me;^(F)
ruthless people^(G) are trying to kill me^(H)—
people without regard for God.^[c]^(I)

⁴Surely God is my help;^(J)
the Lord is the one who sustains me.^(K)

⁵Let evil recoil^(L) on those who slander me;
in your faithfulness^(M) destroy them.

⁶I will sacrifice a freewill offering^(N) to you;
I will praise^(O) your name, Lord, for it is good.^(P)
⁷You have delivered me^(Q) from all my troubles,
and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.^(R)
