⁸ You transplanted a vine^(A) from Egypt;
    you drove out^(B) the nations and planted^(C) it.
⁹ You cleared the ground for it,
    and it took root and filled the land.
¹⁰ The mountains were covered with its shade,
    the mighty cedars with its branches.
¹¹ Its branches reached as far as the Sea,^[a]
    its shoots as far as the River.^[b](D)

¹⁴ The Lord enters into judgment^(A)
    against the elders and leaders of his people:
“It is you who have ruined my vineyard;
    the plunder^(B) from the poor^(C) is in your houses.

¹⁵ What do you mean by crushing my people^(A)
    and grinding^(B) the faces of the poor?”^(C)
declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.^(D)
