Psalm 40:14

¹⁴May all who want to take my life^(A)
be put to shame and confusion;^(B)
may all who desire my ruin^(C)
be turned back in disgrace.

¹⁴Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

⁹⁵The wicked are waiting to destroy me,^(A)
but I will ponder your statutes.^(B)

⁹⁵The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies.

⁷Scoundrels use wicked methods,^(A)
they make up evil schemes^(B)
to destroy the poor with lies,
even when the plea of the needy^(C) is just.^(D)

⁷The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.
