⁹ You set a boundary they cannot cross;
they will never cover the earth again.^(A)

²⁷ I was there when He established the heavens,^(A)
when He laid out the horizon on the surface of the ocean,^(B)

²⁹ when He set a limit for the sea
so that the waters would not violate His command,^(A)
when He laid out the foundations of the earth.^(B)

²² Do you not fear Me?
This is the Lord’s declaration.
Do you not tremble before Me,
the One who set the sand as the boundary of the sea,
an enduring barrier that it cannot cross?^(A)
The waves surge, but they cannot prevail.
They roar but cannot pass over it.
