²¹No harm overtakes the righteous,^(A)
but the wicked have their fill of trouble.

⁹then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial and to keep the unrighteous until the day of judgment, when they will be punished^(A)

⁹if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials^(A) and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.^(B)
