⁵ Then the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud;^(A) he stood at the entrance to the tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When the two of them stepped forward,

¹⁴ And they will tell the inhabitants of this land about it. They have already heard^(A) that you, Lord, are with these people^(B) and that you, Lord, have been seen face to face,^(C) that your cloud stays over them,^(D) and that you go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.^(E)

¹⁵ Then the Lord appeared at the tent in a pillar of cloud, and the cloud stood over the entrance to the tent.^{(A) 16} And the Lord said to Moses: “You are going to rest with your ancestors,^(B) and these people will soon prostitute^(C) themselves to the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake^(D) me and break the covenant I made with them. ¹⁷ And in that day I will become angry^(E) with them and forsake^(F) them; I will hide^(G) my face^(H) from them, and they will be destroyed. Many disasters^(I) and calamities will come on them, and in that day they will ask, ‘Have not these disasters come on us because our God is not with us?’^{(J) 18} And I will certainly hide my face in that day because of all their wickedness in turning to other gods.
